Located in the upper west tip of Manhattan, in what is now Harlem and particularly the Hamilton Heights neighborhood, is Hamilton Grange National Memorial, the home of Alexander Hamilton. The home has actually been moved a couple blocks from its original location; however, it now sits on a hill as part of a city park filled with an array of flowers. In the basement of the house is a small museum with a the history of Hamilton and a short video detailing Hamilton’s life. There are also house tours visitors can partake in to explore the house. We visited during the summer and were able to visit both the museum and the house, which provided us with the history of Hamilton and the historical setting. The museum is not very large so it only takes a couple hours to explore, but it is quite informative.
