Located right off of 5th Avenue, near NYU and Washington Square Park, is OTTO Enoteca Pizzeria. The restaurant is a popular Italian restaurant for NYU staff and students and is known for pizza, pasta, meat and cheese boards, and gelato. The outside is rather non-assuming with just a small red awning donning the OTTO name. Once you enter, the inside is divided into several rooms. The first room is more of a bar-setting with high top tables, and it is decorated with wine bottles and a train sign with times for departure to various Italian cities. The second room is a a long, narrow room with wood panels and dim lighting. Next, the third room is again, long and narrow room with bright red walls. Finally, the last room has light pouring in from the outside and is an ideal space for large groups. Throughout the restaurant, wine bottles decorate the walls.

We have visited a couple times and tried different pizzas and pastas each time. Thus far, every visit has provided us with tasty food and great service. The restaurant is known for pizza, which is well-made and is similar to a Italian/Neapolitan style pizza. OTTO is also known for their cured meat and cheese platters. The best part of the restaurant however is the gelato, which is made in-house and has a large variety of seasonal and permanent flavors that are each fantastic. OTTO is known for their olive oil gelato, which is actually phenomenal. We also recommend their Hazelnut Stracciatella, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, and Sweet Corn. The restaurant offers both gelato and sorbet, depending on your preference. Finally, the restaurant offers a wide range of wines. We definitely recommend stoping by OTTO for some delicious pizza and phenomenal gelato!
