Our latest recipe incorporated a few things we had around the house. The result was a sandwich that tasted just a bit like Thanksgiving.
-bread (a thin loaf cut in half long-ways works the best)
-chicken, thinly sliced
-apples, thinly sliced
Butter the bread and place the cheddar cheese on top. Broil in the oven for just a couple minutes until the butter and cheese melt (you can keep it in longer in order to toast the bread; we preferred to just melt the cheese and butter). Then, layer thin slices of chicken and apple, along with the bean sprouts, on top of the sandwich. Top with the amount of honey mustard you desire. The apples and bean sprouts add a nice crunch, while the creamy honey mustard provides a savory quality. The resulting sandwich contains a panoply of flavors, but they work well together, and provide a warm experience without any heaviness.
