State Park Week-Day 3
In southeast Georgia in Waycross, GA is Laura S. Walker State Park. The park is near Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and Wilderness Area and the Florida border making it a great addition to a road trip. The park has a variety of activities for a great weekend away to enjoy some outdoor fun. Visitors can stay at either a campsite or a cabin and then partake in golfing, fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking, biking, swimming, water-skiing, and playgrounds. We went along a short trail along the lake, which is a central part of the park. There was no one else along the trail, so we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake. Since we were on a large southeast Georgia State Park and National Park trip, we only spent a short time at the park, but we enjoyed spending time out in nature along the lakefront.
