The holidays are over and the long, cold winter season will be setting in, so we decided to focus on some fun, winter explorations or date ideas in Atlanta to warm up the cold.

Atlanta-Day 1

Millenium Gate is located in the Atlantic Station neighborhood, which is great for a day of shopping, eats, and seasonal events; however, if you are looking for a little history and culture you can venture to Millenium Gate. The museum is below a triumphal arch that looks like it should be in Paris or Rome rather than Atlanta. The museum itself is small and focuses on Atlanta history. The main room is a series of pictures and profiles of events and people that helped create the city of Atlanta. Atlanta’s history is full of wealthy patrons who made the city what it is, so visiting the museum will help you learn more about these people (a visit to the museum will also help you recognize some of the names of buildings, areas, and streets in the area!). You won’t spend a whole day at the museum, but it’s a great way to spend an afternoon. You can also pair a visit with some shopping and eating at Atlantic Station.
