One of our favorite parts about living in Georgia is the incredible wine country that it offers, and The Cottage Vineyard and Winery is yet another winery we have enjoyed. Georgia wine country is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains and takes up a large portion of the northeastern part of the state, providing visitors with both quality wine and views. We have continued to visit various Georgia wineries while living here and found them to each have their own unique personality and specialities.

The Cottage sits directly in front of a rather large mountain, creating a masterful backdrop to sit and enjoy wine. From afar the winery looks almost like a chapel with a small cross on top. The winery actually does offer church services for holidays, such as Christmas, as well as every Sunday a service called Jeans and Jesus. Additionally, the winery has local musicians performing, allowing visitors to relax to some music while enjoying the breathtaking views and delicious wine. There are also special events throughout the year, so keep an eye on their calendar.

Besides the various events the winery offers, they also have tasty wine. The Cottage offers a range of reds, whites, and even a rose. We participated in a wine tasting and found the wines to be quite good. They had a nice variety of reds, and we found the Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon to be particularly tasty. The Cottage’s wine was quite well done and combined a nice variety of flavors including various fruits and spices. The wines were flavorful, but provided a nice variety of subtle flavors as well. After partaking in a wine tasting we and the rest of our party got a glass of wine and headed to the lower outdoor deck. There are two outdoor seating areas, one directly outside the tasting room that offers music and then one down the steps that is a little quieter. We enjoyed the music softly in the background and conversed with family while we sipped on some well made wine and stared out at the incredible scenery of the north Georgia mountains.
