A small park in the National Park system is Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site in Tupelo, MS. Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site is a park that remembers a Civil War battle and the lives lost of both sides. There is a graveyard on the grounds from a local church, as well as the cemetery of Confederate soldiers who were killed and a monument remembering all those who were killed. Additionally, there are two trails that visitors can hike and explore the grounds. We spent a bit of time walking about the grounds and looking at the graves. The site is a small National Park site, but still a large part of United States history, thus, it is something we need to continue to learn about and explore.
