George’s is located right in the heart of Virginia Highlands, along Highland Avenue. George’s has actually been in the neighborhood since 1961, quite a long time since Atlanta has so many newer buildings and businesses. The restaurant is a standard pub-dark woods and dimly lit for that neighborhood watering hole type feel. When we visited, we actually sat outside on their pleasant patio. The weather was lovely, and we had a nice time along the main shopping district of Virginia Highlands. As you would expect, George’s serves standard pub food-burgers, sandwiches, and a few other items. We had a grilled chicken wrap and a cheeseburger, although with a black bean patty. We received hearty portions and had a nice lunch. George’s is a standard bar that is a fun place to just kick back, relax, and enjoy some good conversation.
