The Elder Tree is an Irish pub that is well-known as a hangout for all those wanting to watch European soccer games. The Elder Tree looks the part-along with the brick, dark wood, copper ceiling tiles, and general pub atmosphere, there are dozens of soccer scarves tacked to the walls and rafters. Even though The Elder Tree shows many of the European soccer matches, there are only a few TVs in the pub, making it easy to converse with friends without yelling over dozens of TVs. If you are into soccer, check out The Elder Tree’s website as they open early sometimes in order to show certain matches.
The Elder Tree’s menu is typical of an Irish pub. They have traditional Irish dishes such as fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, and bangers and mash, but they also have a selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and burgers (the last two of which are named after famous soccer teams!). We both ordered burgers, and we found them to be very good pub style burgers-tasty, with hearty portions. The Elder Tree also has a good selection of beer, especially local beer, and, of course, Scotch and Whisky.
The Elder Tree is a fun local pub with tasty food and a lively atmosphere. Especially if you are a soccer fan, you should check out The Elder Tree.
