Located slightly South of Nashville, TN lies Arrington Vineyards. Thus far, Arrington has been the most delightful winery we have visited. Although it is a bit further off the interstate, it doesn’t add too much extra time and in our opinion is definitely worth the drive!
The majority of the wineries we have been to are frequently located right off the interstate and cannot boast impressive grounds, with the view being primarily the interstate and only a small plot of vines growing. Arrington’s property was quite picturesque with rolling hills and beautiful views. Guests enter through a large gate that has an A & V emblem within it. Next to the gate was a massive wine barrel and the winery’s name written on it. At night time the barrel is lit up presenting a lovely display. The winery itself is a beautiful lodge type building with a wood frame and stone columns, creating a classy, but welcoming feeling.
Once you are inside you can choose to sit at the bar and partake in a wine tasting or sit down and indulge in their impressive, and delicious selection along with some appetizers and dessert. We went to the bar to have a tasting, which was $6 per person, although the pours were more substantial than other wineries we have been to. Every wine was first class, so much so that we had trouble choosing favorites, so just taste what looks good-you can’t go wrong with any of the wines. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the Syrah, which was a bit pricier than other wineries, but the price certainly reflected the quality, so we were happy to pay the amount.
The winery included a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the vineyard and grounds, which we would have loved to have enjoyed. Alas, we had to get back on the road, but we enjoyed our time so much that we are planning to go back at some point to relax, sip a bit of wine, and savor a more prolonged experience.
