Each week we buy fresh bread (such as baguettes or sourdough) with the intention to have a little something extra with some of our meals. Yet each week the bread gets too hard to eat before we have time to finish it. Instead of throwing it out or simply suffering through eating a block of bread you can turn that extra bread into something delicious that can go with other meals-croutons!
Bread (sourdough works really well)
Italian seasoning (or other spices)
Slice the bread into small pieces and mix in a bowl with olive oil & Italian seasoning. The croutons do not need to be drenched, just a light coating. Place the croutons on a pan and simply bake for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your croutons, at 350 degrees. Afterwards you have a yummy addition to a salad, soup, or even a little snack as is.
